The study focuses on the representation in RuNet folklore of how Internet users relate to the observance or non-observance of language and speech norms by people around them. The author claims that there are two poles, one of which is occupied by the intentions of those who believe that no norms should be followed and that one can write as one pleases, or demonstratively distorts normative spellings, and the other by supporters of mandatory observance of existing norms concerning language and speech. Between these two polar positions in RuNet, there are many more loyal ones regarding literacy. The author examines the main types of errors that Internet users pay attention to and which are ridiculed by them in works of various genres of Internet folklore: inept text formatting in advertisements, announcements and headlines, as well as logical, grammatical, speech, and spelling deviations from the norms. The analysis covers such forms of Internet folklore as memes, presentemes, motivators, demotivators and other creolized texts, online jokes and anecdotes, as well as new genres of Internet poetry that appeared in the 21st century: pirozhki-verses, poroshki-verses, depressyashki, etc. The study showed that creators of Internet content pay close attention to how correctly the people around them speak and write; irony in works of Internet folklore can be directed, on the one hand, at illiterate people who have a poor command of the Russian language, and on the other hand, at those who put literacy above all else, including above human life, and are too aggressive towards those who have a poor command of the norms of language and speech.
